This small cemetery is located in East Andover on the back
side of Farmer’s Hill. From Andover Village, take Route 120 east toward
the village of East Andover. Keep right at about 1/2 mile where a road
to the left goes to South Arm and at about .8 mile where Route 120 goes
left to Roxbury Pond. Stay on this road for about 2.6 miles from the center
of town. At the East Andover Fire Station, turn left on the Farmer's Hill
Road. You will be heading approximately southeast. Continue on this road
for about 2.3 miles until you get to the top of Farmer's Hill where an
older shingled house is ahead on the right. Turn right, and you will be
heading approximately southwest to start, but the road soon turns back
toward the southeast. Continue on this road down the back side of the hill
for about .8 of a mile and the Lovejoy/Farmer's Hill Cemetery will be on
the left. This is a dirt road that is usually passable except during snow
and mud seasons, but exercise caution. Lovejoy/Farmer's Hill Cemetery was
used for burials by local families from about 1845 to 1950. However, most
of the burials were between 1850 and 1900.
